The Lead, Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) is responsible for leading, planning, developing, and implementing new or redesigned systems, strategy, policy, and processes related to Northern Health's (NH) MAiD services. This role is responsible for providing leadership and subject area expertise for the operations management, risk management, and quality improvement activities of the MAiD program. In collaboration with the Medical Co-Lead, the Lead sets a vision, communicates priorities, and facilitates consensus among diverse parties, including patients/families and organizational leadership. This role serves as the central contact and provides oversight of the MAiD Care Coordination Centre, managing services provided by physicians, site leads and other health care providers, ensuring continuous improvement in accessing timely, appropriate services that are consistent across the Northern Health Authority.
Starting salary will be approximately from $88,990 to $111,237 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualfications
• Bachelor's Degree in a health-related discipline or similar field, supplemented with seven (7) to ten (10) years' recent related clinical experience in end-of-life care including two (2) years' experience in a leadership/management role, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
• Extensive knowledge of service requirements, applicable legislation, regulations, standards of practice related to end-of-life services.
• Understanding of services and resources related to end-of-life health issues.
• Extensive knowledge of the healthcare system as it pertains to end-of-life services and interdependency with other clinical program/services.
• Anticipates future changes in service delivery and develops transition strategies that optimize resource utilization and ultimately improve efficiency and quality of patient care.
• Applies conflict management skills and expertise to persuade and negotiate effective resolution of issues/disputes.
• Excellent communication skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment.
• Ability to coordinate, plan, develop, implement, organize, evaluate and problem solve tasks and objectives.
• Ability to implement and evaluate projects including knowledge of project management principles.
• Ability to operate related equipment including related software applications.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
