Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced executive to lead our Financial Crime Risk Management (FCRM) Business Oversight function for Canada. This critical leadership role will be responsible for setting strategy, overseeing execution, and enhancing the effectiveness of financial crime risk oversight across multiple Canadian business lines, including Personal and Business Banking, Wealth, Insurance, Technology, and Enablement functions.
As part of a redesigned structure, this role consolidates leadership responsibilities previously held by multiple executives, offering a unique opportunity to shape and lead a newly aligned team. The successful candidate will play a key role in bridging business and risk functions to ensure robust governance, advisory support, and delivery of a market-leading financial crime risk program.

What You'll Do
- Lead the Canadian FCRM Business Oversight function, including strategy development, policy ownership, and program execution across multiple lines of business.
- Serve as the primary liaison between business executives and core financial crime functions, ensuring a two-way advisory and escalation pipeline.
- Oversee the review and approval of risk assessments, policy documents, and reporting processes to ensure regulatory alignment and operational effectiveness.
- Provide expert advice on matters including customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), compliance testing, and risk control strategies.
- Champion the simplification and clarification of team mandates to eliminate duplication, increase transparency, and align efforts with enterprise goals.
- Drive organizational change and leadership development within the team, elevating capabilities and succession across the leadership bench.
- Collaborate closely with compliance, operational risk, technology, and data teams to advance integrated, enterprise-wide solutions.
- Represent the business oversight function in senior forums, contributing to enterprise reporting, regulatory interface, and strategic planning.
What You Bring
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in financial crime risk management, compliance, or regulatory roles.
- Deep expertise in anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, risk assessments, and operational controls.
- Strong understanding of Canadian financial services, including retail, commercial, and wealth management lines of business.
- Proven ability to lead transformation in complex, evolving environments with a focus on accountability, simplification, and culture.
- Demonstrated success in developing high-performing leadership teams and managing large-scale change.
- Exceptional communication and executive presence with the ability to influence across functions and engage senior stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (e.g., JD, MBA) is preferred.
