Job Description:

The main responsibility of TDAM Investment Operations is to provide a high level of service, support and professionalism to their internal clients, and if applicable, external clients. Ability to work within strict deadlines, strong problem solving skills, initiative, attention to detail and the ability to make a strong contribution to the team are keys to success. Experience in an investment environment and understanding of basic accounting principles.

The Manager is responsible for providing strategic direction, guidance on a broad and diverse range of complex organization activities and/or specialized project support or services. Acts as the reference contact and Subject Matter Expert for the business. The Manager works in a high volume, fast paced environment that is subject to change due to the nature of our business processes.

Accountabilities - Position Specific
  • Manager who will support Investment Operations. This position reports to Managing Director, Investment Operations
  • Identify and respond to changes in the business environment and establish action plans to address issues and priorities.
  • Act as a key liaison for the team to actively engage stakeholders within the Business and broader industry, developing and maintaining strong business partnerships, clarifying business needs and delivering client-centred solutions that enhance the overall end-to-end experience.
  • Proactively identify key business opportunities, research and recommend system enhancement/modifications, develop strategies to achieve recommendations and work closely with system support to execute and implement system upgrades/enhancements
  • Conduct root cause analysis, evaluate options and provide recommendations; ensure appropriate reporting and escalation of issues occurs based on risk profile
  • Protect the interests of the organization; identify and manage risks, resolve escalated matters and refer complex and/or non-standard, high risk transactions/activities as needed
  • Provide expertise and coordinate implementation and testing of new processes and systems and ensure these are well documented
  • Develop solutions - ensure business requirements, processes and procedures guides are properly documented.
  • Continual operational improvements - efficient delivery to business, opportunities for process improvement, automation and centralization
  • Apply knowledge of end-to-end processes and other requirements to drive achievement, implement process improvement initiatives and execute on change, supporting adherence, tracking and realizing benefits
  • Mitigate risk by coordinating activities with partners in Operations, Technology, Finance, Risk Management, etc.
  • Act as a key contributor to strategic initiatives, functional projects/programs and/or internal/external working groups and may sign off on projects of small scale and/or complexity
  • Provide leadership, direction, advice and guidance to the team, maintaining high levels of integrity, motivation and morale
  • Encourage productivity, innovation, creativity and teamwork.

  • Share knowledge, information, skills and subject matter expertise among the team.
  • Contribute to the development of the business. Implement solutions and provide operational support.
  • Act as a change leader/champion for Business Services through positive reinforcement of milestones and successes
  • Act as escalation point for team as well as other internal groups and partners
