Job Description
An overview of your role will include:
- Assisting intermediate and senior engineering staff in completing projects in the field of rock mechanics for our mining clients in Canada and abroad, particularly in Québec and French-speaking countries.
- Participating in the implementation of geotechnical studies for mining projects, including: rock mass characterization; design studies; design and installation of ground support; design, installation, and monitoring of instrumentation; site inspections.
Specific tasks include:
- Research on specific rock mechanics problems.
- Data reduction and analysis of geological and geotechnical investigation data.
- Database management, 3D data visualization, stability analyses.
- Participating in geotechnical characterization and design projects in underground, open-pit, and mine closure rock mechanics.
- Assisting in the preparation of technical reports.
- The role will include a combination of office and field work.
- Field work will include certain aspects of surveying, drill coordination, geotechnical mapping, and geotechnical logging of drill core.
You will have training in:
- Eligibility to work in Canada.
- Valid driver's license.
- University degree in geological or mining engineering.
- Graduate studies in rock mechanics (an asset).
- Knowledge of consulting engineering (an asset).
- Experience in the mining sector (an asset).
- Interest in geology, geotechnics, and rock mechanics.
- Interest in fieldwork, data processing, and numerical modeling.
- Availability to work outside regular office hours, including nights and weekends, and on multi-week field rotations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in French and English.
- Positive attitude toward change.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team/group.
- Organized with strong attention to detail and time management.
- Knowledge of industry-standard software (AutoCAD, MAP3D, the Rocscience suite, Surpac, etc.) is an asset.
- Knowledge of programming languages (VB, Python, or others) is an asset.

Compensation
- BC, AB, SK, NT & NU: $69,700 - $92,300
- MB & ON: $63,600 - $87,500
- Atlantic Provinces & QC: $62,900 - $83,600
