As our Director, Salesforce DevOps you will develop, embed, and nurture an elite, world-class approach to all tooling, processes, documentation, quality engineering, and release management for the Salesforce ecosystem. You will develop and deliver DevOps-specific consultancy services in pre-sales, post-sales, and internal scenarios, demonstrating thought leadership and providing technical solutions, frameworks, and methodologies. You will establish a network of DevOps experts to meet the objectives defined in the job description and the DevOps demands our clients and engagements require.

Skills

Tractionites come from a variety of backgrounds, and we are eager to find people that are from non-traditional backgrounds. Typically, we find that people are successful in this role when they have:
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in technical consulting or an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Broad expertise of salesforce.com and Salesforce DevOps implementation experience across multiple projects/industries with a strong understanding of best practices
  • Deep understanding of the Salesforce DevOps space and its challenges and opportunities
  • Proven leadership experience including the ability to provide direction to a team and to obtain client executive alignment
  • Experience supporting pre-sales activities in the Salesforce DevOps space
  • Exceptional client management skills and communications skills (both write and verbal)
  • 3+ years of proven experience in delivering Salesforce DevOps, Quality Engineering, and/or Agile frameworks in a consulting environment
  • 8+ years of professional experience in a test-driven and formal QE/CI/CD development environment
  • Ability to articulate processes and tools utilized to ensure quality, stability, performance, scalability, deployment, security, maintenance, and documentation
  • Experience performing quality and DevOps maturity assessments, along with tools rationalization
  • Ability to formulate, document, and maintain Quality Engineering standards and best practices
  • 4+ years of experience creating test artifacts, best practices, and standards; maintaining them for organization-wide consumption
  • 3+ certifications on Salesforce DevOps platforms (e.g. Copado, Flosum, etc)
  • At least one certification in test automation and test management
  • 4+ Salesforce Technical Certifications (Platform Developer I is required)
  • Proven stakeholder relationship management at CxO level
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of latest trends in DevOps methodologies, processes, and tools, as well as emerging solutions and ability to apply them when appropriate
  • 3+ years of experience in enterprise agile development practices (e.g. SAFe, LeSS, DaD, etc)
  • At least one certification in agile development preferred
  • Demonstrable MDM and data Integration experience preferred
  • Operations & management qualifications (ITIL v3) preferred
  • Demonstrable skills in process management and improvement

What You Will Be Doing
  • Drive the strategic direction of the Salesforce DevOps practice
  • Oversee a portfolio of Salesforce DevOps projects
  • Create executive alignment with clients
  • Manage key client relationships and ensure successful project execution
  • Partner with business development and marketing teams to generate pipeline and close new business
  • Provide pre-sales support and thought leadership as a Salesforce DevOps subject matter expert
  • Lead client elaboration systems as a lead solution architect
  • Conduct solution reviews with project teams
  • Identify and leverage opportunities to partner with other practices and groups to create greater synergies
  • Lead, mentor, and provide direction to a delivery team of consultants
  • Identify and establish best practices and tools for future Salesforce DevOps implementation projects
  • Advise and mentor diverse teams, including customer and partner resources, providing guidance on application and integration development best practices as well as technical product assistance
  • Work within the team of DevOps experts focused primarily on delivering technical solutions for improving the overall quality of build, deployments, monitoring and alerting, with emphasis on non-functional requirements (standards, resilience, stability, scalability, security etc.)
  • Provide advanced technical and/or business consultative services including functional and technical documentation, training, and workshop leadership
  • Implement CI/CD strategies that incorporate the entire application development lifecycle as well as the continual evolution of cross-functional collaboration, associated best practices, and standards
  • Lead executive whiteboard/strategy sessions discussions around Salesforce DevOps processes, demonstrating deep functional and technical knowledge of Salesforce DevOps and related principles (e.g. quality engineering, automation, intelligent workflows, etc.)
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for Quality Engineering and DevOps implementations
  • Devise Quality Engineering and DevOps transformation strategy for large organizations and drive toward successful implementation
  • Develop engagement frameworks and standardized roles so that they are able to be described in detail and added to project scope and resource plans, including consistent ways of working and reusing standard approaches for engagement, delivery, performance measurement/KPIs, and reporting
  • Evangelize the maturing governance of DevOps and QE processes and digest feedback for further efficiency through future iterations
  • Engage the wider talent pool to develop and maintain relationships across teams and departments so that their approaches and strategies adhere to those frameworks, standards, best practices, and overarching DevOps methodologies defined by the organization as a whole
  • Act as a key contributor to proposal development, implementation strategy, approach, timelines, and costs
  • Work on ongoing R&D efforts into tools, processes, and people to further enhance Salesforce DevOps capabilities, with a special emphasis resulting in assets, accelerators, and products unique to the organization
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
